About OAKS

Organized Acts of Kindness for Seniors (OAKS) was founded in 2017, and gained non-profit status in October 2018. The organization is based on the national Village-to-Village model of grassroots non-profit service for seniors.

We are a volunteer driven organization. Volunteers dedicate their time, talents and skills to assist our Members with tasks such as grocery shopping, light house cleaning, transportation to medical appointments or community events, respite care and other daily tasks or projects, including providing companionship.

OAKS is dedicated to helping seniors 55 and older live independently in happy, healthy and safe environments.

To fulfill this mission, OAKS is committed to the following goals:

  • Organize and train OAKS Volunteers to assist OAKS Members with daily tasks and projects that help members to live independently.

  • Provide OAKS Members access to educational, cultural and social activities to keep them informed, engaged and active.

Further down the road, we aim to provide a preferred provider directory. This will connect Members with professional services such as cleaning, electrical, plumbing and landscaping.

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.”
